Iran is ready to resume atomic negotiations with the United States on condition that it is handled with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has declared.

The Iranian diplomat declared only diplomacy worked, and revealed fresh requests had originated from intermediaries to reopen discussions with the US government. He said Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Iran could not yet allow the global atomic watchdog to visit struck enrichment centers for safety concerns.

Walking a Difficult Route

Araghchi is walking a complex route since Iran does not want appear to be proceeding from a position of disadvantage, and he consistently maintained that Iran had come out more powerful militarily and mentally from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with American involvement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since local refinement would have persisted and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was entirely non-military.

It had not been agreed in the negotiations that US nuclear scientists could operate on Iranian soil, but that was a reasonable assumption of the consortium proposal. Current Position

Araghchi stated: "It was not Iran that had deserted dialogue; it was America and the western countries that had repeatedly attempted to enforce their demands during the discussions. In what is described by Iranian officials as the struggle of recovery and reconstruction, the foreign minister stated he was confident Iran's security strengths "have significantly improved than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been restored. We learned multiple understandings from this conflict; we have come to know our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of the opponent."

He stated: "We effectively endured this war. Our nuclear technology, which they intended to destroy, remains in place. The sites and gear, if damaged, will be reconstructed; what is crucial is the resolve of the citizens of Tehran and then the national cohesion that they aimed at, but were unable to break.
